Consignment Shop!

I love kids consignment shops! I got this entire outfit for Lilly, children's place sweater and matching skirt, and shoes for less than $15! I also got her an easter dress for $7.50, and braxton a whole bunch of pants. YEAH ME!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We set the trap to catch the leprechaun. The kids really want to see him and get his treasure! We got up in the morning and checked the trap. The leprechaun wasn't there! But he did leave clues. The tricky guy even took a picture of himself in front of the trap, taunting us! He did forget his hat in the trap though (and a tiara for Lilly!).

What he did leave was clues. The clues (each with a piece of gold attached) were all over the house. The leprechaun took a nap in Lilly's room, ate our snacks, played with Braxton's legos and computer, looked at our pictures from Hawaii, and taunted our dog! Can you believe it? The last clue though, there was a treasure hidden! What a great treasure too! There was two green bracelets, some butterscotch candy (that looked like gold!) and some punchy balloons! What a fun leprechaun. Of course, he was long gone before we got up. Next year our trap will need to be sneakier I guess! After the treasure find, we feasted on green scrambled eggs! HAPPY ST. PATRICK's DAY!

Braxton's Birthday Party!

On Sunday March 7th we had Braxton's 6th birthday party at Solid Rock Gymnastics. We invited his whole class! I know, crazy but when I asked if we could just invite the boys, he was heartbroken, most of his friends are girls! They had a great time on the zip line, trampolines, and rope swing. It was a great time! I am so proud of both of them for going on the zip line. They were both so brave and loved it! In fact, Lilly kept cutting in line to go again! All in all about 18 kids were at the party. They had pizza, cupcakes, and lots of fun!
Blowing out the candles, that is cupcakes under there if you can believe it!

A good 2 inches of frosting on each cupcake!

Moving Forward

It is official, Braxton will not be going back to daycare this summer. I have signed him up for a summer program at Belmont Community Center. It is a bittersweet moment for me. I am so excited for all of the wonderful opportunities he will have this summer. They go swimming at least twice a week, science experiments, and walking to the part among many others. However I am sad because he has been going to this daycare since he was 3 months old. He really is growing up too fast. I know that a lot of his friends will be at Belmont, first because he has told me and then because the lady in the office told me again. It is great that he will be with all of his friends, but I am afraid Lilly will be sad. She will be the oldest at daycare now.
I am sure she will do great, but where did the time go? How is it that I have a 6 year old and an almost 4 year old? Wow.

Lilly is so helpful!

Conversation yesterday morning:

Braxton: I need to take a stuffed animal of something that lives in the sea to school today. I want to take my seal from Hawaii. I don't know where it is.

Kim: Lilly, do you know where Braxton's seal from Hawaii is?

Lilly: Uh Huh! First go right, then take another right, then go downstairs and turn left. It is in the toybox in the laundry room.

It wasn't in the toybox in the laundry room, but she was so specific in her directions I thought for sure it would be! She has been doing that a lot, give very specific (but incorrect) directions!

And we thought she had a speech problem! Gotta love that girl!

Family Night at Dance

Lilly has been taking a tap/ballet class and last week was family night. We got to go in and see what she does. Of course she spent most of the time making sure we were looking at her!

Happy 6th Birthday Braxton!

I can't believe that you are already 6 years old! You are doing wonderful in Kindergarten and are such a joy to be around! You are helpful around the house (when you want to be!) and are so kind hearted. You are very sensitive and want everyone to like you! You love school and are doing a pretty good job learning to read. You can write your name and recognize lots of letters and numbers! You like going to school and even like wearing a uniform! You and daddy build lots of great things with Legos, you love to play with your GEO Trax and love anything with CARS on it. You are a good big brother, sometimes too good and you forget that you are just the brother not the parent. =)
We are so lucky to have you in our lives Braxton Michael! We love you so much! Happy 6th Birthday!
